How to register your trailers in Maine through Countrywide Trailer Registrations

  1. If your trailer is already registered in another state, please click here:
    • We simply need a copy of the registration,
    • The number of years you wish to register your trailer,
    • A check made out to Countrywide Trailer Registrations for the correct amount.
  2. If you already have a title in your name for the trailer, please click here:
    • We simply need a photocopy of the title
    • The number of years you wish to register your trailer
    • A check for the correct amount made out to Countrywide Trailer Registrations.
  3. If you just purchased your trailer and it’s a 1995 or newer and weighs 3001 lbs. or more, please click here:
    • The trailer needs to be titled in Maine so we need the original title (not a photocopy) of the trailer signed over to you
    • Power of Attorney form (available on our site)
    • A check for the registration fee and title fee made out to Countrywide Trailer Registrations.
  4. If you just purchased a 1995 or newer trailer and it weighs 3000 lbs. or less, please click here:
    • We would require a copy of the bill of sale
    • A copy of the title or another document indicating the weight of the trailer
    • The number of years you would like to register the trailer for
    • A check made out to Countrywide Trailer Registrations.
  5. If you just purchased a 1994 Trailer or older, please click here:
    • We would require a copy of the Bill of Sale
    • The numbers of years you would like to register the trailer
    • A check made out to Countrywide Trailer Registrations.
  6. If you would like to register your home made trailer:
    • If the trailer was previously registered, please click here – we require a copy of the registration, the number of years you wish to register your trailer and a check made out to Countrywide Trailer Registrations.
    • If the trailer was not previously registered, please click here – we need a typed statement from you stating the following information about your trailer:
      —Date built
      —Dimensions: length, width and height
      —Weight
      —GVW (trailer weight plus the load that the trailer can carry)
      —Type of Trailer (landscape, boat, horse, utility etc…)
      —VIN number
  7. Please take notice that your bill of sale must be legible and include the date, full name and address of the seller and the buyer, and the year, make, serial number, weight, GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight), the cost of the trailer and sellers signature.

** Mail directly to us and not to the State of Maine as they will then have to send to us and
it will cause a long delay.
